š Scouts Race into Fun at Downtown Glendale!

On February 1, Scout leaders, Scouts, and their families from Cub Scout Pack 276, Troops 747, 3747, 546, and 3546 came together to host Pinewood Derby fun for their community at the Downtown Glendale Arts & Culture Fest, āBBQ, Rhythms & Ridesā. Scouts managed the Pinewood Derby track, awarded ribbons to winners, led kids in painting their own pinewood cars, and shared the excitement of Scouting with local families. Many attendees expressed interest in Scouting for their children or grandchildren.
Hosted by the Southern Arizona Arts & Cultural Alliance (SAACA) and the City of Glendale, the event was a huge success. Highlights included a classic car show, a BBQ competition, live music, local art, a bounce house, kids’ crafts, and of courseāthe Pinewood Derby! Collectively, five units, nine leaders, 14 Scouts, and their families contributed over 100 service hours, earning an invitation to return next year.
A special shoutout to the Rodems Family! The Rodems attached wheels to 200 carsāan impressive 800 wheels and axlesāand helped with setup, activities, and teardown. Papa Rodems stayed the entire day, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. What a Trooper! šŖ
