Troop 41 Explores Aravaipa Canyon & Connects with Crew 2041

Troop 41 set out on a memorable backpacking trip through Aravaipa Canyon, crossing creeks and exploring the stunning Booger Canyon.

On March 8, 2025, Troop 41, chartered with American Legion Post 1, set out on an unforgettable backpacking adventure through Aravaipa Canyon. With 13 Scouts and leaders, the group embraced the rugged beauty of the canyon, navigating the winding trails and soaking in the breathtaking scenery.

A key lesson for the Scouts was the value of waterproof socks and gaiters, as there were several creek crossings throughout the hike. One of the highlights was Booger Canyon, named for the green moss that covers its walls. This slot canyon, which Troop 41 hiked to as a day trip from the campsite, offered a serene escape, complete with small waterfalls and a cozy swimming hole.

One of the biggest highlights? Meeting up with Crew 2041 during Saturday’s day hike! The two groups came together for an epic moment, capturing a photo to mark the occasion

Scoutmaster Brian Cook summed it up best: “And all I can say is WOW! What an amazing trip!” A huge shoutout to our incredible Scout momsSara, Rachel, and Cassandra—for putting together an awesome photo album to help us relive the adventure! Next up? Picacho Peak! Stay tuned for more outdoor fun with Troop 41.
