Recognizing Steve Gottlieb for His Outstanding Contributions to Scouting and Youth Organizations in Arizona

Recipients of the North Star are presented for distinguished service to youth in a local council by a non-registered Scouting supporter. This award joins the prestigious Silver Beaver, Silver Antelope, and Silver Buffalo awards, recognizing significant contributions to Scouting Arizona, Grand Canyon Council and Scouting America, respectively. Shining brightly is Steve Gottlieb, our North Star Award honoree!
Steve began his Scouting journey in 1980 as a Law Enforcement Explorer in Santa Monica. This led to the LA County Sheriff Department. Later, Steve transitioned to event planning overseas and then Arizona where he founded Eagle Management and Events (EME). EME develops signature outdoor events that are consistent with the ethos and culture of partner non-profit entities such as Scouting.
Steve’s broad and wide contributions to Scouting involved arranging for Scout participation in community events from Scout Show events at the Courthouse Square, Pinewood Derby at the Gateway Mall, to Rain Gutter Regatta during the Dragon Boat races at Watson Lake.
He has spearheaded many local non-profit organization fundraising efforts to support not only Scouting America units, Girl Scout units, Boys and Girls Club, Prescott Unified School District Boosters, American Legion Riders, Sister Cities, and other youth and service-oriented organizations.
Local Scouting involvement began with attending a Pack 6 Cub Day and then included Scouting in the Easter Carnival in 2014, which still continues today.
Thank you, Steve, for your service to Scouting in Arizona and for encouraging many other youth-oriented programs to thrive on their positive exposure, growth, and development within our communities.
